DATE/TIME   ACTIVITY   LOCATION   Saturday, February 6, 2010 8:10am meet time Bird walk w/Lake Ridge Wild Bird Center Join the Lake Ridge Wild Bird Center for monthly birdwalks at the Occoquan Bay Refuge (every 2nd Saturday of every month). No experience is neccesary! Be prepared for the weather conditions and to walk for an hour and a half. Meet at the store (12555 Dillingham Square) between 7:45 and 8am, or in the Refuge parking lot at 8:10am. On this adventure you'll investigate the clues that animals leave behind including tracks and scat. What you discover may surprise you! Please note: this event may be moved to Saturday, Feb. 13th in the case of excessive snow. If PWCS activities are canceled for Saturday (you can check at www.pwcs.edu), this event too will be cancelled. Occoquan Bay NWR Program is full! Saturday, March 6, 2010 10am - 11:30am What's in Your Water? Clean water is vital for the ecosystem. Using probe ware and test kits, come discover what the water quality is at selected locations within the Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Occoquan Bay NWR RSVP now! Sunday, March 6, 2009 evening/time TBD Woodcock walk Come join us for an evening walk at Occoquan looking for breeding woodcocks - look for their one-of-a-kind mating displays. There is limited space for the walk and an RSVP will be required. RSVP information coming soon.
