Bird banding station   (opening again soon!)
Come visit the bird banding station during Spring Migration! The station is open during Refuge hours on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 7am - 11:30am (approx.).

Featherstone NWR Clean Up
Come take advantage of this rare opportunity to access Featherstone National Wildlife Refuge, normally closed to the public. This tidal wetland is in desperate need of stewardship. Come join in the fun of removing litter, tires and who knows what else. What to bring: rubber boots and work gloves.

Bird walk w/Lake Ridge Wild Bird Center
Join the Lake Ridge Wild Bird Center for monthly birdwalks at the Occoquan Bay Refuge (every 2nd Saturday of every month). No experience is neccesary! Be prepared for the weather conditions and to walk for an hour and a half. Meet at the store (12555 Dillingham Square) between 7:45 and 8am, or in the Refuge parking lot at 8:10am.

Occoquan River Conservation Day
Come out and enjoy the first Occoquan River Conservation Day to celebrate the river and its resources. The purpose of this event is to educate all who attend on the importance of the Occoquan watershed and the impact the river has on all our lives. The day will include morning educational workshops and afternoon hands-on experiences. Topics will include recreation, history, conservation, and community.
